Technology Day Program
Against the Grain: the Power of Thinking Differently
Change is essential in both ideas and systems. Many systems seek stasis, yet they need disruption to advance. Given the tumult of the century's first decade, Technology Day will examine three areas where work at MIT is pointing in new directions: our understanding of how humans behave, advances in semiconductors and their use in health care, and breakthroughs in energy storage.
Please be sure to register for this thought-provoking program, which will feature three of MIT's outstanding faculty: Ann Graybiel PhD '71, Anantha Chandrakasan, and Donald Sadoway. Their work will provide insight into how MIT taps the power of thinking differently to solve some of the most vexing problems of the century.
Every year more than 1,000 alumni and friends attend Technology Day to learn from stellar faculty who are at the cutting edge of their disciplines. The speakers at this year's exciting program will outline new ways of thinking about ourselves, the use of machines to maintain our health, and the best ways to meet the ever growing need for energy. Don't miss it!
Technology Day Luncheon
The Tech Day Luncheon is the perfect end to the Tech Day program. Classes gather with President Hockfield and alumni leaders to enjoy fine food and celebrate the contributions alumni make to MIT.
Tech Challenge Games
After a day of heady discussion, it's time for the 19th annual Tech Challenge Games. Alumni and their families gather for entertaining, MIT-style competitions. It's an afternoon of fun for alumni, spouses, children, and even innocent bystanders. Watch video of the action.
